The COVID-19 Pandemic has brought with it a lot of challenges at all levels of our society, not the least in business. As a result of these challenges the Government and its arms, in this case The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has seen it prudent to shift some of its processes online to avoid physical interaction between its officers and members of the public. We see this happening in the application of a Vendor Number.
What is a Vendor Number?
A Vendor Number is a series of digits issued by the Ministry of Finance to identify a company that wishes to deal with Government and its related agencies.
As Best Sheperd Investments we have an office dedicated to assisting our clients with the registration process. For this service all we require are the following documents:
An application letter from one of the company’s directors and on the company’s, letterhead addressed to: The Director, Public Finance Management Systems (PFMS) Unit, Mukwati Building, 2nd Floor, West wing.
You will be asked to pay an application processing fee depending on the period within which you want your application to be processed.
The application letter must also contain the following information: –
1. Registered name of company
2. Physical address of company
3. Postal address of company
4. Name of company’s bank, branch and account number
5. Contact person from the company
6. Position of the contact person in the company
The application letter must be supported by the following scanned documents as one document: –
(a) a certified copy of the company’s Certificate of Incorporation
(b) a certified copy of the company’s current Form C.R.14. (All pages)
(c) ZIMRA tax clearance certificate
(d) a certified copies of National Identity/Passports/Driver Licence for all the directors on the company’s current Form C.R.14.
(e) an original or certified copy of bank statement for the company.
(f) Proof of residence of two directors on C.R.14 in the form of water / electricity bill/Prepaid ZESA receipts in their names only.
Please note that the registered name of the company stated in the application and Certificate of Incorporation must be the same as that of the account holder appearing on the bank statement.
